description:

This dataset shows how Auckland's urban kerbs are allocated across various uses. It was collected between December 2021 and January 2023 as part of an exercise to baseline AT's on-street/kerb resources, and better-understand the public resource of 'kerbside space allocation and management'. It also includes an updated view of the allocation of City Centre kerbs, as at November 2023.

Data was sourced from both street imagery and (in some places older) aerial photography. City Centre changes were updated in a more manual manner, through site visits, then updating the data as accurately as possible.

Although the City Centre has been updated as at November 2023, the rest of the regional data is the original data output, and has therefore not been audited or verified. AT acknowledges that this data contains errors and does not take responsibility for this.

This dataset may supplement AT's existing asset management information, including location of kerb, vehicle crossing and line marking data. AT is working to update a version of this dataset with more accurate information on kerbside use.

While the City Centre kerbs have been manually updated as at November 2023, the rest of the region remains largely unchanged and would require updating.
